The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop that is middle-of-the-road. It gives a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

During testing it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to help you map your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the best-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and a variety of features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is setup you can begin the automatic cleaning with a single button press. You can select a general clean that prioritizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as rice and cereal or two detailed maps of your home to ensure that your entire home has a clean and tidy appearance.

This robot vac performs well on both floors that are bare and carpets with low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as some others do and can pick up pet hair with ease. It has a difficult time with carpets that are high-pile or plush, but iRobot claims that future models will be better.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which concentrates on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used, but we found it only marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ has a superior filtering system that blocks microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the high price cost.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to keep track of the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map your interior of your home. This allows it to avoid obstacles like stairs and other barriers, and to clean up your entire house in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundaries so that the robot can determine which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is even better as its spinning pads scrub floors better than the vibrating pads.

The only drawback is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's an acceptable cost to pay for if you are looking for one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robo-vac is bigger than most of its competitors and filling it up takes only two or three cycles even when you've got the most dirt.

In terms of the mopping device, I was awestruck with its ability to remove tough dirt from my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest that are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, create little noise, allowing you to work or even watch television without interruption. It will gently hit a wall or furniture and then move on if it comes across one.

What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to operate almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for user intervention. The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It comes with a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor system that detects obstacles more accurately and prevents it from falling on furniture or other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It has a height of more than two feet both height and depth, and weighs in at least four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

While these features are useful, they also push the L10s Ultra into the category of luxury, which might make it somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners need.

The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris from our hardwood floor test and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops also perform well, removing 98.4% debris from our carpet, tile, and wood tests. It wasn't as effective at removing sand from the hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
